Why Limited?
Over the course of 2015 as I navigated through my first year with a store, I encountered a number of counterfeiting issues. They turned out to be fairly widespread, as we began to see prints that I had not produced walking themselves around convention centers and player signings, and even places like Amazon.com.
Since I have been digitally painting professionally, going back to 2009, I had always assumed that the reproductions would come from the digital files inherent with my work. We were surprised to discover that the knock-offs were being made from prints I had produced.
This is a tough problem to address, and unfortunately there isn't a perfect way to handle it. My solution is to move all of my work to strictly limited-edition, signed and numbered pieces, on everything beginning at the start of 2016, in an effort to protect my intellectual property
